Rideout Customs is named in the Ultimate Edition contents as one of the businesses. That is a body shop name if I have ever heard one.
What I cannot tell is whether that means customisation is an Ultimate feature, which would be strange, or whether it is a business you own in Ultimate and a shop you visit in Standard. Those are very different and the copy does not distinguish.

Agreed. Look at the other named businesses in that list. A salon, a tattoo shop, a clothing place. Those are all things that exist as shops in every GTA. Ultimate lets you own them, not use them.
That is exactly how I read it when I bought it and I have been assuming it is obvious. Apparently not, given how often this comes up.
The copy reads as a business you own in Ultimate rather than a feature you unlock. Customisation shops have existed in every game since San Andreas and it would be extraordinary to put them behind an edition.
It comes up because the marketing copy is a list of nouns and nouns do not explain themselves.
That reading makes the whole Ultimate list make sense at once. You own the shops rather than unlocking the services. Thank you, that was bothering me.
