Can anyone get a travel time estimate out of the footage at all

Following up my scale post. I have tried three approaches and all three failed.

Vehicle speed against passing geometry does not work because we do not know the geometry scale. Shadow movement does not work because the day cycle length is unknown. Landmark parallax does not work because focal lengths change between shots.

If anyone has a fourth approach I have not thought of, I would like to hear it. Otherwise the honest position is that we have no travel time information whatsoever.

The shadow approach failing because the day length is unknown is a nice example of how two unknowns multiply rather than cancel.

Honest position is the right position. Every travel time figure in circulation is somebody's feeling with a number attached.

Appreciated. I would rather be the person with no answer than the person with a wrong one that gets quoted in December.

A fourth approach would need a fixed reference in two shots and there is not one. I went looking for the same thing after your scale post and came back with nothing.
