Genuine question rather than a complaint post. Some games have had a physical version show up six months or a year after a digital only launch, usually tied to a game of the year edition or similar.
Has Rockstar ever done that? I cannot think of a case. Trying to work out whether waiting is a real option or whether the code in a box is the only version that will ever exist.
The point is that in fifteen years the drawer still works and the account might not. That is the whole argument and it is fine if it does not move you.
No precedent I can find. Their pattern is that later editions bundle content, not media. The definitive answer is that nobody outside Rockstar knows, but I would not plan around a disc appearing.
Even if one appeared it would almost certainly be a code in a box as well at this point. The industry moved and it is not moving back.
That is what I suspected, I just wanted to hear someone else say it before I gave up on the idea.
