Something I have been wondering since I bought it. The extras unlock as you progress through chapters and the businesses come with side missions layered through the story.
So for a newcomer, does having Ultimate mean you get a different pacing than someone on Standard? Are the side missions interleaved in a way that changes the rhythm, or are they optional content sitting alongside?
The cluttered map problem is real in a lot of games and the chapter gating is presumably the answer to it.
Good question for the newcomer group specifically, because a first playthrough is the one where pacing matters most.
That is reassuring. My worry was that Ultimate owners get a cluttered map at hour one and Standard owners get a clean one.

Layered through the story is the phrase and it does imply interleaving rather than a separate menu of jobs. But nothing states whether they gate on chapters or simply become available.
For a newcomer I would not worry about it. Side content that appears alongside the story is how these games have always worked and you will not notice a difference you have no baseline for.
