genuine question because people keep saying its just 5 stars with an extra step. from what they showed the escalation is different, the cops dont even know who you are until someone reports you. so is star 6 a real new level of response or did they just stretch the same scale

It is a real new tier, but the more important change is what happens below the stars. In V a crime instantly generated a wanted level. Here a crime has to be observed and reported first, so there is a window where you have done something and nothing has happened yet. The sixth star is the top of a longer ladder, not a bolted on extra.
ok that window thing is what i was missing. so the tension is in the seconds after not just the chase
Six stars also means the top end has somewhere to go. Five star in V was just more helicopters. If six is qualitatively different that is a real change lol
The facial recognition part is the bit that will actually change how you play. Masks stop being cosmetic.
Does changing clothes work mid chase or do you have to break line of sight first
Breaking line of sight appears to be required based on what was shown. You cannot change in the open with a helicopter on you.
