Following on from the mystery thread. If you were designing this map, where would you put the thing nobody solves for six years?
My instinct says the park, because wilderness gives you distance and distance is what makes something feel hidden. The swamp is atmospheric but it is also busy with airboats and missions. Kalaga is described as being on the state border, which is as far from everything as this map gets.
counterpoint from the swamp corner, busy is exactly what you want. the mural was on a mountain people flew to constantly and that is why everyone saw it
Both of those are better arguments than mine and I am withdrawing the park nomination. It needs to be somewhere people already go.
Coming to this a month later purely to say that this thread predicted my entire personality.
That is a strong counter. A mystery nobody visits is not a mystery, it is a file on a disc. It needs traffic to become a community obsession.
The correct location by that logic is somewhere in or just outside the city, visible from a road, that people drive past four hundred times before anyone looks properly.
