Complete beginner question. I have a fairly old television and a PS5.
People keep mentioning HDR and modes and I do not know whether any of that matters or whether I will get the same game as everyone else. Is this something I should spend money on before November or is it fine?

Short answer: it will be fine. You will get the same game.
Longer answer: HDR makes a bigger visual difference than resolution on most sets, and if your television does not support it you are missing an effect rather than missing content. Nothing about the game requires it. Do not spend money before November on the assumption that you need to.
Also worth saying that a lower end setup means you spend less time in menus tuning it and more time playing, which is not nothing.

That is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you. I was about to spend money I do not have.
If you do want to spend anything, spend it on the audio rather than the picture. A cheap soundbar changes these games more than a new panel does.
