I have seen it stated that the vehicle handling team includes actual racing drivers. That would explain a lot about how the cars move in the footage.
Want to check whether that came from an interview or whether it is one of those things that gets repeated until it is treated as fact. It is exactly the kind of claim that would spread easily because everyone wants it to be true.

Consultants do not guarantee good handling. They guarantee somebody in the room could tell when it was wrong, which is different and more useful.
Worth pairing with the boats. If they hired drivers for cars, somebody thought about who to hire for the water, and that would explain the hull behaviour.
