There is a store interior and there is music in it, quieter and more compressed than the car radio, the way music sounds in an actual shop.
I cannot place the track and I cannot tell whether it is a station playing in world or a separate piece of licensed music for that space. Either way, the fact that shop audio is different from car audio is a detail I did not expect anyone to bother with.

The 2002 game had one piece of music per space and it was the same volume everywhere... this is a completely different craft.
Following up my own post, the compression is the giveaway. It is filtered like it is coming out of a small speaker in a corner rather than mixed for the player.
