Right, the actual criticisms, because somebody has to and it is obviously going to be me

Everything since Thursday has been superlatives. Here is the honest list of things that could still go wrong, from someone who thinks it will be excellent.

The systems shown are all inputs to other systems. Witness reports feed descriptions, descriptions feed pursuit, the profile feeds the world, money gates progress. That is elegant on paper and it means one badly tuned number makes four things feel bad at once.

Eighty hours of a story about two people needs those two people to carry eighty hours. RDR2 had a gang to spread that load across. This has a couple and a supporting cast we have not met.

And nobody has seen the top of the wanted system, the ending, two entire regions, or a single announced character in gameplay. We have been shown a very confident forty minutes about a game we have not actually seen the shape of.

Still preordering. Still annoyed about the PC thing lol

The load bearing question is whether the supporting cast shows up early. Eight described characters exist and none of them were in the footage.

The interconnection point cuts both ways though. If one number being wrong breaks four things, one number being right makes four things sing.
