Everyone assumed it without checking is a fair description of about half of what got written after the reveal, including several things I wrote.

There is a cut. It is short and it is disguised by the camera movement, but the geometry changes across two frames in a way that a continuous shot would not.
Seamless interiors at this scale would be an enormous technical claim and nobody at Rockstar has made it, which is usually the answer.
a well hidden transition is still an achievement though. most games make you watch a door open for four seconds
