I have changed my mind about the car theft thing

posted in august that the security levels were going to be a chore by hour twenty. several people pointed out that occupied cars can still be taken the normal way and that the friction only applies to parked ones you have chosen deliberately

that is a completely different system to the one i was complaining about and i was wrong. the friction is on the thing you opted into, which is the correct place to put friction

still think it will annoy people in november. no longer think those people will be right

You were also not entirely wrong. The concern was legitimate, the premise was just incomplete, and that is a different thing from being wrong.

Friction on the thing you opted into is the correct place to put friction, and that sentence is a better summary of the system than anything in the previews.
