Is anybody going to do a proper map survey in the first week

Not a collectible map. A survey.

What I would like to exist by December: distances between named places, actual travel times by road and by water, the road network through the Keys, and where the region boundaries fall. All of it measured rather than estimated.

Somebody in here has been doing rigorous negative results on scale for two months and I suspect I know who would be good at this. Is anyone planning it, and would people contribute measurements?

I know who you mean and I am flattered and slightly alarmed.

Yes. I will do it, and I would want contributions rather than doing it alone, because measurement at that scale needs more than one person and needs a method everyone agrees on before anyone starts.

That is exactly right and it is the part I would have got wrong. Method first, in October, while nobody has any data to be attached to.

The method needs deciding before launch, because nobody will agree to a standard once they have already taken measurements they like.
