A short note on why every fan map is wrong in the same direction

Having looked at about a dozen of these now, they all make the same error and it is a psychological one rather than a geographic one.

Everyone draws the city in the middle. Every single map has Vice City roughly central with the five other regions arranged around it like petals.

There is no reason for that. Real states have their major city on a coast, usually offset badly, with enormous distances on one side and almost nothing on the other. Los Santos was in the south of its map. The city being central is not an inference from evidence, it is a habit from looking at maps where the important thing is in the middle because the person drawing it put it there.
