The countdown has quietly become the hobby and I am at peace with it

Eleven weeks out and I have noticed that I am not really waiting for the game any more. I am doing this. Reading this place in the morning, arguing about causeways, writing three paragraphs about a radio station that has not existed since 2002.

The game will arrive and it will be very good and this particular thing will stop. Whatever it turns into afterwards will be a different thing with different people in it.

Not melancholy about it. Just noticing it while it is still happening.

The version of this place that exists after launch will be full of people who have played it, which is what we all want and also the end of this particular thing.
