bonnie and clyde is the comparison everyone uses and i think its wrong

bonnie and clyde is a story about two people who are already doomed and know it. thats not what the marketing is selling

what theyre actually showing is two people who think they can get out. the bios are about wanting a good life and about meeting someone being the best or worst thing that happened. thats hope. bonnie and clyde had no hope in it, it was a death spiral from frame one

if this game ends the way bonnie and clyde ends then fine, but the setup is not that setup and everyone using the shorthand is skipping the interesting part

The choices comment is relevant here. If endings vary then the Bonnie and Clyde framing cannot be the whole shape of it, because that story only has one ending.

This is a better reading of the marketing than the marketing deserves and I think you are right. The word Rockstar keeps using is together, not doomed.

Bonnie and Clyde has become shorthand for any criminal couple, which is fine as shorthand and useless as analysis. Fair point.
