both words have turned up in coverage and i genuinely cannot tell if thats two vehicle types or two names for the same one. as someone who has been on both i have opinions but i do not know what rockstar is calling what

for what its worth in real life they are basically the same thing, flat bottom boat with an aircraft propeller on the back. airboat is the common name, fanboat gets used interchangeably
Boring and right is most of what this forum produces on a good day.
Both terms are in circulation and I do not think anyone outside Rockstar knows whether they are two vehicle classes or one with two names in different write ups.
The interesting question underneath it is whether shallow water is its own terrain type, which two named craft would suggest and one would not.
Then it is most likely one vehicle class and two names used loosely in coverage, which is the boring answer and probably the right one.
